Town Head Estate Wedding Photographer

Town Head Estate Wedding Photographer

I was so excited to be asked to be Meera & Fergus’s Town Head Estate Wedding Photographer. I love the Lake District and Town Head Estate has to be one of the most exciting and luxurious Lake District Wedding venues. I was over the moon to have the opportunity to be the wedding photographer at such an amazing venue.

I was also going to work with an amazing team of wedding suppliers that really helped the wedding reach its full potential. Meera & Fergus were so laid back and cheerful, I had the most amazing time photographing some very emotional moments throughout the wedding.

Town Head Estate is a simply stunning wedding venue on the shores of Lake Windermere. With a beautiful wedding barn, luxury accommodation for the happy couple, and 22 of their VIP guests. There is ½ mile of private lake frontage with a dizzying amount of options for an outdoor wedding ceremony with beautiful views across the Lake. They even have a newly acquired wedding motor yacht if you fancy a spin around the lake. Town Head Estate is a simply stunning venue to be a wedding photographer.

Bridal Preparations at The Beauty Suite & Bridal Cottage

Meera was having her bridal preparations with her bridesmaids in the secluded Bridal cottage which is directly linked to the Bridal cottage. Fergus wasn’t too far away getting ready with his best man. It was a perfectly sunny day and the energy and excitement were high. Meera & Fergus were having an Indian wedding ceremony and this was only my second Indian wedding to photograph so I was very excited. There were to be lots of singing and dancing and such wonderful colour and the beautiful traditional Indian wedding dress.

Wedding ceremony at the wedding barn Town Head Estate

The wedding barn looked simply stunning and had a mandap (altar) with two chairs facing each other. This is where the wedding ceremony was to take place. The start of the wedding ceremony is the groom making his way to the wedding barn accompanied by drummers and lots of dancing by all of the wedding guests. I captured some amazing shots! As the groom was waiting for the bride to arrive, Meera was walked to the altar by her uncles rather than her father. There are lots of beautiful prayers and so many different rituals throughout the ceremony. The Civil ceremony had happened two days before so the marriage was legal in the UK. What an amazing wedding ceremony to witness and photograph. I was so in awe of the whole event. It is so life-affirming being a wedding photographer and capturing real memories for my couples.

Drinks reception at Town Head Estate

After the wedding ceremony was over it was time for the drinks reception. So many hugs for the happy couple as the guests congratulated the newlyweds. I love photographing this part of the wedding day. There can be some powerful moments as close family members congratulate the bride and groom. The fabulous Northern String Quartet added a lovely ambiance to the celebrations. We shot the family group shots on the civil ceremony day, so after a few drinks the happy couple joined me on a tour of the grounds to capture some fun and relaxed couple portraits. The grounds are a wedding photographer’s paradise and we started in the beautiful blooming gardens and made our way to the boathouse at Lakeside. I hope you agree the photographs turned out pretty well!

Wedding Breakfast and speeches in the Wedding barn

The happy couple were announced into the wedding breakfast to roars of applause. The father of the bride started the proceedings and the guests did not stop laughing and crying right through the best man and groom’s speeches. There was even a speech by the bride which is always nice to see couples breaking convention! After the wedding breakfast, I photographed the newlyweds cutting the cake and it wasn’t long to go to the first dance.

First dance on the Town Head Estate Terrace

The newlyweds decided to have the first dance on the terrace in front of the main building as it was such a beautiful sunset, the most perfect golden hour. I captured some amazing shots of the happy couple’s first dance and then the party continued upstairs in the wedding barn. Some of the kids showed their acrobatic moves to the delight of the guests.
