The Barn at Yew Tree Farm wedding photographer

The Barn at Yew Tree Farm wedding photographer

I was thrilled to be asked to be Sarah & Drew’s The Barn at Yew Tree Farm wedding photographer. This very recent Liverpool wedding venue is tucked away in Halewood and is a fantastic venue to be a wedding photographer. The 300-year-old barn has been renovated and is the perfect place to tie the knot. Liverpool is such a great place to be a wedding photographer with great venues like The Barn at Yew Tree Farm to shoot at.

Bridal Preparations

Sarah, the bride was having her bridal preparations at her grandmother’s house and was surrounded by her family and bridesmaids when I arrived to start photographing the special day’s events. I captured some great moments as the bride gave some wedding presents to her family and bridesmaids. It was soon time for the bride to put on her wedding dress, grab her bouquet, and be whisked off to the wedding ceremony at The Barn at Yew Tree Farm!

Wedding Ceremony at The Barn at Yew Tree Farm

The wedding ceremony was to take place in the 300-year-old restored barn at Yew Tree Farm. The groom was greeting his wedding guests with support from his best man & ushers as he waited for his bride to arrive. So much excitement in the ceremony room as wedding guests sat down in anticipation of a lovely ceremony. I always love to capture the first look between the happy couple as the bride walks down the aisle with the father of the bride. With a little help from their little flower girl during the exchange of rings and vows it was soon time to sign the register and walk back down the aisle as Mr & Mrs!

Drinks Reception at The Barn at Yew Tree Farm

The drinks reception is another favorite time of the day to photograph. Both the bride and groom are being hugged senseless and it’s great to capture all of the fun as the guests enjoy a glass of bubbly and congratulate the newlyweds. So much stuff happening, I always try and capture every great moment I see. We had loads of fun quickly going through the list of family group photographs. We still had plenty of time to go for a stroll in the beautiful sunshine to photograph some very relaxed and fun portraits of the bride & groom.

Great Speeches in the Barn

What is the best part of the wedding day? I suppose as a wedding photographer the answer to that question will vary from wedding to wedding. I loved this particular set of speeches. The father of the groom gave an outstanding speech and this was followed by a hilarious speech by the groom. Tears of joy and laughter are great things to photograph and with 12 years of experience as a wedding photographer, you get to be always hyper-aware of all of the heartfelt reactions of friends and family. If either of the Mother’s haven’t shed a tear by now, they will during the speeches, and I will be there to photograph it all!

First dance at The Barn at Yew Tree Farm

As it was such a lovely sunny day, we were gifted with a golden hour which is something we wedding photographers name the last hour of sunlight before the sun sets. The sun being low is more flattering, and there is a beautiful golden, warm quality to the light. It’s an opportunity for more beautifully lit portraits for the newlyweds, and I always give my couples the opportunity if they wish to take it. Sometimes there just isn’t time, but today there was, and we captured some fun and relaxed portraits before the main event of the evening – The First Dance.

Just before the first dance, the happy couple cut the cake and then it was onto the dancefloor for the first dance. Lots of cheering and whistling for the happy couple as I photographed them spinning around the dance floor. I got some amazing shots as the wedding guests joined the bride and groom to dance the night away!

The Barn at Yew Tree Farm Wedding

The Barn at Yew Tree Farm is a working farm, so on your wedding day you might see the odd tractor, hens roaming the grounds, there are Alpacas, goats, sheep, and a donkey! The Barn at Yew Tree Farm has been family-owned for the last 35 years and is situated on 25 acres of land in south Liverpool.

The 300-year-old barn was transformed from a farm shop to a stunning venue space that caters for weddings, meetings, and conferences.  The barn was refurbished in 2020 in keeping with its original features and has maintained its rustic beauty and will be a stunning backdrop to your wedding.

The Barn at Yew Tree Farm is fully licensed to hold civil ceremonies and can hold up to 72 people for a wedding breakfast and up to 140 people for the evening reception. You have exclusive hire of the barn from 10 am on your wedding day and your wedding co-ordinator will oversee your day for you making sure everything runs smoothly on your wedding day.

Orchard room

Both the Orchard and Meadow rooms are fully licensed giving you two options for your wedding ceremony. The Orchard room can be closed off from the larger Meadow room for a more intimate smaller wedding ceremony. There are glass bi-folding doors that fully open to create a more open space on those sunny days.

Meadow Room

Bigger and grander in scale with room for 80 guests and a long aisle to give you a more grand entrance, the Meadow room has that wow factor with all the features you love in an old barn – High ceilings with beautiful exposed wooden beams and exposed brick. A truly stunning barn wedding venue in the heart of Liverpool.

The Bar

The bar is a relaxed space with lots of glass opening onto the farmyard. The perfect place to unwind from the action on the dancefloor!

The Stable

A great place for the bride to freshen up during the day or to take a little break from the wedding with a bit of quiet time. You can also meet the registrar here before your walk up the aisle!

Alpacas

A unique feature of The Barn at Yew Tree Farm is its Alpacas. These beautiful animals can be incorporated into your wedding day to make it truly unique!
