It was such a thrill to be the wedding photographer at Jennifer & Sam’s Kings Croft Hotel wedding. The Kings Croft hotel is a fantastic wedding venue set in the countryside near to Pontefract. It is a family run business managed by the owners Rosie and Shaun Ingram. Kings Croft is a lovely Grade II listed building with 8 acres of stunning landscaped grounds. There are great views of the surrounding countryside from the beautifully landscaped grounds. It even has a Helipad if you want a dramatic entrance! Kings Croft Hotel is a top wedding venue to get married and be a wedding photographer. I love it that I get to take photographs for a living. I had met Jennifer at her sisters wedding only the month before. They were not planning on using a professional wedding photographer until Jennifer saw the images from Heather’s wedding.
In her own words:
“I totally fell in love with your natural style of photography, especially the photographs of my daughter. I knew I had to book you to photography my wedding too!”
Photographing the bridal preparations
The bride had her bridal preparations at home with the help of her bridesmaids and her little flower girl. The bride lit up as she stepped into her wedding dress and I captured some great reactions from the rest of the family as they saw her in her wedding dress for the first time! So much excitement in anticipation of the big day and it was soon time to grab the flowers and be whisked to Kings Croft Hotel in her wedding car. We were going to have a wedding day to remember!
Wedding ceremony at Kings Croft Hotel
The bar at Kings Croft Hotel was buzzing with excitement as the groom was greeting the wedding guests with his best man. Kings Croft hotel has an ace glass pavilion for outdoor ceremonies with great views of the surrounding countryside. The bride had studied music and two of her student friends sung beautifully as the bride entered the pavilion with her father. The wedding ceremony is the most important part of the day, and it’s important I photograph as much emotion as I can as the bride and groom exchange wedding rings and say their wedding vows. I’m always looking to photograph a mum wiping away a happy tear or to capture a father looking on with a proud smile. These are the photographs that will have real meaning for the bride and groom in the future. After signing the register with the help of the witnesses, the happy couple walked back down the aisle to more beautiful music and lots of love from friends and family. I had lots of fun photographing the drinks reception with many hugs and congratulations for the bride and groom. It’s time for fun as everyone enjoys the fizz and canapés and the atmosphere is always amazing. After the confetti throw the bride was straight into the bouquet toss!
Amazing Speeches
The Newly weds were announced into the wedding breakfast to massive applause from the wedding guests. Loved the speeches by the father of the bride and the groom, there were some brilliant jokes! Another great touch was some of the brides student friends had formed a wedding band and were playing at the wedding! We cut the wedding cake and then it was time for the first dance and it wasn’t long before everybody joined the happy couple on the dance floor for some serious hands in the air action!
It was fantastic to get this email from Jennifer a few days after Jennifer received her photographs:
Hi David,
I’ve sat and sobbed going through all the pictures!! I couldn’t be happier and it’s reminded us of so many lovely moments in our wedding that we’ll always have to remember. Thank you for your hard work and I’m absolutely made up at how stunning these are.
