West Tower Wedding Photography

Being the West Tower wedding Photographer for Michelle & Neal was an immense pleasure, and it really was a fun wedding day with lots of laughs and happy tears from start to finish. There are many reasons Why I Love Shooting At The West Tower, the biggest reason is the staff really look after you.

Set in acres amidst the beautiful rolling Lancashire countryside, West Tower is one of the top Lancashire wedding venues to photograph.  The elegant hotel, built as a family home in 1885, was the setting for the civil ceremony as well as their wedding reception. With beautiful views across the Lancashire countryside, West Tower is one of my favourite venues in the North West.

West Tower is an award-winning venue, winner of North West wedding awards 6 years in a row, and awards finalist in the Lancashire tourism awards 2015 & 2016. With 19 beautiful bedrooms including the bridal suite and a stunning ballroom, and in my humble opinion some of the best staff in the industry, West Tower is a truly great wedding venue.

PHOTOGRAPHING BRIDAL PREPARATIONS

Michelle got ready at her childhood home with her bridesmaids and flower girl. The house was a real hive of excitement as they had their make up and hair done! There were lots of smiles from Michelle’s bridesmaids and family as she gave some really generous gifts to everyone, and there was a real emotional reaction from Michelle’s mum and father of the bride when they saw her in her dress for the first time. It was then off to West tower to photograph the groom, Neal and his best man and ushers.

CIVIL CEREMONY AT WEST TOWER

The wedding ceremony room in the West Tower has such great light and the ceremony was a real emotional rollercoaster. There were massive cheers after the exchange of rings and first kiss! The wedding party then headed outdoors to the gardens for a serving of champagne and canapés with lots of congratulations from the guests for the bride and groom.Although I photograph the day totally naturally and unposed, I still think it is important to photograph the family formals which I shoot quickly with no fuss.

I then took the happy couple for a very relaxed couple shoot. Most of my clients hate the thought of posing, so I ask the couple to walk around the venue and at most ask them to stand in a nice spot. I find the photographs are much more natural and emotional than traditional awkward poses.

GREAT BEST MAN’S SPEECH

A great entrance to masses of cheers into the wedding breakfast room for the bride and groom, and then it was time for the meal. A solid speech from the father of the bride and the groom, although it’s fair to say the best man stole the show (as he should) with a truly hilarious speech. A brilliant set of anecdotes cataloguing some of the brothers many funny adventures, which had the guests in stitches, it’s always exciting to photograph the speeches there is always lots of emotion to capture.

WONDERFUL WEDDING AT WEST TOWER

We managed to get out after the speeches just in the nick of time to catch the last of the sunset and it was then time for a great first dance with lots of tears from friends and family. It was wonderful wedding to photograph at West tower, and a massive congrats to Michelle and Neal; I wish them all the best for the future.
