Wedding at Oh Me Oh My

Lisa & Paul only planned for their wedding in January this year! They were well lucky to get a cancellation at Oh Me Oh My, as it’s a sought after wedding venue. A fun morning as the bride had her bridal preparations at her home with her bridesmaids. After the flowers arrived the bride’s mother helped her into her wedding dress. A big moment as the bride revealed her dress for the first time! It was hugs all around and I captured a lovely moment between the bride and her father. This is what wedding photography is about for me – capturing the special relationships and intimate moments between people. It was soon time to get into the wedding cars to travel to St Georges Hall for the wedding ceremony. Thinking of getting married in Liverpool? Wedding Ceremony at St. Georges Hall

The groom was greeting the wedding guests with the help of his best man when I arrived at St Georges Hall. There was a big tearful start to the ceremony as the bride walked down the aisle to meet the groom. There were some fabulous readings and a happy tearful exchange of vows. After signing the register the newlyweds had planned for everybody to sing 8 Days a Week which was a right laugh. We shot some very quick family groups and after the confetti throw, it was then onto White Wolf for the drinks reception before the wedding reception at Oh Me Oh My! Lisa & Paul made the day their own with some great touches like singing 8 Days A Week, for tips on how to make your day your own check out my Top 10 Tips For a Great Wedding Day.

Oh Me Oh My in West Africa house is a beautiful historic building with lots of history. Facing the iconic Three Graces, it has bags of character and is the perfect wedding venue for quirky souls.  The happy couple were announced into the wedding breakfast to massive cheers and some fabulous speeches too. It was nice to see the mother of the groom and the bride make a speech of their own. Go girls! How To Give a Great Groom’s Speech.

After a fabulous wedding breakfast, the first dance started early with an extended Ceilidh dancing session! Absolute joy photographing everybody having loads of fun and we got some amazing light coming through the windows to add drama to the photographs. We took a walk over to the Waterfront in front of the Three Graces for fantastic relaxed Portraits. The sun makes such a lovely orange glow at this time of the day and made the photographs look stunning.

Such a brilliant day being the wedding photographer at Lisa & Paul’s Oh Me Oh My wedding! Oh Me Oh My certainly ticks all the boxes in my article How To Choose A Wedding Venue.

Oh Me Oh My Perfect Liverpool Wedding Venue

Oh Me Oh My is an impressive building in it’s own right. It was originally purpose-built for the Bank of British West Africa in 1920. It was designed by architects Briggs, Wolstenholme & Thornley. It has marble floors, the original classical ceiling mouldings and 20ft columns that line the centre of the room. It makes a fabulous setting for a cool wedding reception. Only a short walk to the River Mersey it also has the beautiful Goodness Gracious roof terrace to complement the massive main room downstairs.

Oh Me Oh my can cater for small intimate weddings up to much larger celebrations. The room always looks super cute dressed in fairy lights and candles that create quite an atmosphere. If you get a sunset it is literally minutes to get onto the waterfront for some fabulous sunset portraits.

I always love coming back to Oh Me Oh My to shoot weddings; the main room just has something very special about it.

If you want something really different to host your Liverpool wedding day, Oh Me Oh My is one of the top Liverpool venues for your shortlist.
