I still love what I do, and being a wedding photographer at Hilton Liverpool for Karis & Spencer gave me such a buzz. Capturing loads of happy stuff for people having one of the best days of their lives will always be an amazing thing for me.
Photographing The Bridal Preparations
Karis got ready at her family home on the Wirral and things were in full flow when I arrived. Karis had 8 bridesmaids and a flower girl, which is probably the biggest bridal party for me this year!
Karis’ mums house was almost bursting at the seams and there were plenty of lovely moments to photograph. It was sweet that mum had still left “Karis Room” on the door of her old room (written in silver foil as a child) and Karis put her wedding dress on in her old room too.
Wedding Ceremony At Hilton Liverpool
Karis and Spencer chose to have their wedding ceremony at the Hilton Liverpool. Spencer was surrounded by his best man and ushers when I arrived. I love the big glass walls of the Hilton. The mezzanine level and ceremony room always have great light. The light was perfect on Karis and spencer as they said their wedding vows. It was a lovely touch that Karis and Spencer’s flower girl and pageboy presented the wedding rings to the happy couple during the exchange of vows.
Lots Of Speeches!
Along with the father of the bride and best man’s speech, Karis’ Chief bridesmaid and Sister also had the crowd laughing and crying with brilliant speeches of their own. It’s great when couples break away from wedding traditions a little and do something a little different.
Karis and Spencer are not people for the limelight so they asked everyone to join them quite quickly into their first dance. That was the main reason they booked me as their wedding photographer. They wanted to be able to just have fun and forget about the photographer as they enjoyed their wedding day. My style of wedding photography is all about capturing the real stuff that happens throughout the day without stopping or directing you. I particularly love photographing the evening dancing as you can capture some great images of people really letting their hair down. It’s also always hilarious photographing the kids who ALWAYS warm the dance floor up doing what kids do best – showing the adults how to have fun!
What a fantastic wedding to be a part of, I loved photographing Karis’ and Spencer’s wedding at The Hilton Liverpool. Massive congratulations to Karis & Spencer and I wish you both all the best for the future!
